Our Commitment: InterNations-AFS Scholarship

InterNations and AFS Intercultural Programs share the common aim of encouraging international exchanges and a global mindset. By joining forces we have developed the InterNations-AFS Scholarship which enables young students from underprivileged areas in the world to gain international experience.

For every new expat invited by one of our members, InterNations donates 1 Euro to finance scholarships awarded to students that cannot afford to study abroad. The students are selected by AFS Intercultural Programs in various third world countries according to several criteria such as revenue of parents, high level of ambition and strong motivation to discover another culture. Our sponsored students can either take part in a two-month or one-year programme in the country of their choice. The required budget can amount from 2,000 Euro for a two months program to 8,000 Euro for a one year programme, all taken care of by InterNations.

A picture, a short description and regular update of the students currently sponsored by InterNations are featured here. InterNations Members can directly follow their contribution to the programme as they are awarded an individual charity status (bronze, silver, gold), depending on the number of new expats they have successfully invited. A counter also displays the total amount raised by InterNations. Please note that members initiate the fund raising by inviting new expats, the Charity programme is however entirely financed by InterNations.

You invite, InterNations donates!
