Moving to Dayton

Many people move to Dayton or Ohio in general in order to experience its humid continental climate and thrive in the booming job market. Dayton is famed for bringing aviation to the world - it is well known for its aviation and aerospace innovations and high concentration of research centers. If you're moving to Dayton, you might be relocating to work within the aerospace industry, or you might just be thinking about setting up a new life abroad. If you're having trouble with the move, or you want some valuable insight into making life as an expatriate a little bit easier, then you can browse the forums on the InterNations site, which are full of posts and comments left by expats who have had similar experiences to the one you're going through when moving to Dayton.

Working in Dayton

Much of Dayton's economy is made up from the aerospace and defense industries. Other than that, there is the extensive healthcare development in the area, with the hospitals in Dayton employing over 30,000 people. It is estimated that these same hospitals have an economic impact of over 6.8 billion dollars per year. Because of its great transportation routes, and the fact its borders are within a 500 mile range of 60 per cent of the American population, Dayton has become a center for businesses to operate logistics from - with many manufacturing companies setting up operation centers nearby. These logistics outposts hire thousands of people, with new jobs becoming available every year. If you want to start working in Dayton, but you need help with your confidence, or you can't find a job anywhere, the InterNations website has a strong community of expatriates who will be willing to help you out - whether that's through the private message system, or on the members-only message forums and discussion groups.
