InterNations Amsterdam - Haiti Fund Raiser

Dear InterNations members in Amsterdam,

We hope the new year started with the right kind of blast for you and 2010 is treating you very well so far!

As you are all aware from the heart-breaking pictures and stories that have been reaching us over the last couple of weeks, some in the world have not been so fortunate, and so we felt strongly that our great and growing InterNations community should make a one-time acknowledgement of the victims of the Haiti earthquake. We sincerely hope you will agree.

Our plan is to turn our February InterNations get-together into a fun, inspiring, Valentine-themed fundraiser for the earthquake victims. That means that the door cover charge of 7 Euro’s for basic members will entirely be donated to AFS which is actively involved in supporting the victims of the earthquake in Haiti and is already the official charity partner supported by InterNations: “AFS International”:http://www.afs.org/afs_or/view/10110
(Albatross Members already contribute to this partnership with their monthly fee!)

But we want to do even better! We also want to have a small auction on the night where members have the chance to bid for surprise prizes. And that is where you come in: We ask you to donate a prize!

We are delighted that our favorite host venue – “Hotel V”:http://www.internations.org/guide/view_location/6477 – has already donated a free overnight hotel room stay for two people plus a bottle of Champagne! Also, your InterNations Ambassadors are donating a free intensive half day Tango introduction workshop for the highest bidder at a time of the winner’s convenience! Needless to say, prizes won can be passed on to friends. And we are working on more exciting prizes for the auction.

If you have anything to give away that members of our community might enjoy and bid for on the night, please email Kwela at kwela.hermanns@portaltoyourdreams.com  with details of your offer and we will pick out the best ones from your responses.

And of course – whether you donate a prize or not – we hope you will simply be there on the night and enjoy a regular and yet special drinks event with your fellow InterNationer’s. Bring your friends to grow our community and make it a fantastic night that makes a small contribution to another community that is in so much trouble right now.
