InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Izmir
Hello to all Americans in Izmir! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Izmir? There’s no doubt about it: Izmir is considered the Pearl of the Aegean for a reason. The third-largest Turkish city is a large, metropolitan city known for being an important Aegean port, but also for its ancient roots, contemporary culture, warm climate, divine cuisine, and much more! With the buses, minibuses, and ferries, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in more residential areas such as Karsiyaka, for example , which are less than a 20-minute car journey away from Izmir’s center.
