The capital of the province of Limburg in the southeast of the Netherlands is a university city known for being the birthplace of the euro, for its national heritage buildings, large international student population, rich history and culture, and much more! With the Arriva bus services, a railway system, and many cycle paths, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in residential areas such as Wyck or Sint Pieter, for example, which are a 15 to 20-minute journey away from Maastricht’s center.
