Facts about Expat Life and the Local Economy in Palestine

A major project, funded by the World Bank, to improve Palestine's water and waste-water system was completed in 2013, improving water supplies for some 1.6 million residents. Part of the efforts to improve the quality of life after years of political unrest, the project included drilling more than 50 water production wells and was widely viewed as a positive sign of the region's recovery. Palestine is an important historic region, housing many ancient discoveries, including Tel al-Sultan, the remains of dwellings dating back around 10,000 years. The diverse restaurants in the region serve Arabic and Western food, while organized activities on offer include visits to the Dead Sea Spa, rides on the Jericho cable car and desert safaris.
