Living in Perpignan

Perpignan is a city located in the south of France which has a fascinating history as well as being known for its beautiful surroundings. It is known as "La belle catalane" and forms a part of Northern Catalonia. In 2008, Perpignan was made the Catalan Capital of Culture and it has many cultural sights and attractions that expats living in Perpignan are able to enjoy including the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist and the Palace of the Kings of Majorca. The gardens of the latter overlook the city and are the home of the annual Guitares au Palais festival which takes place over three days in August. Expats living in Perpignan will be able to take in both French and Catalan culture as well as enjoy the city’s shops, restaurants and bars and explore the city’s scenery. Perpignan is known for its rugby union team, USA Perpignan, whilst rugby league is also popular in the city.
