I wish I'd found InterNations sooner: It would have made my first few month as an expat in London much less overwhelming.
InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Reading
Hello to all Americans in Reading! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Reading? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Reading which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?
There’s no doubt about it: Reading is a comparatively small but diverse place. The large historic university town is a diverse city known for being a major commercial center with a focus on IT and insurance, the Duchess of Cambridge’s birthplace, home to the University of Reading, and much more! With the network of buses (next to national train links), navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in Holybrook or Caversham, for example, which are both approximately a 30-minute bus ride away from Reading’s center.
Although Reading has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Reading, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
