InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Tunis

Hello to all Americans in Tunis! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Tunis? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Tunis which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: living in Tunis means living in history. The capital of Tunisia is a forward-looking city known for its rich culture and long history as well as the remains thereof, from the ancient medina quarter (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to the nearby ruins of Carthage, and much more! With the network of buses, suburban trains, and trams (métro léger) as well as comparatively inexpensive taxi services, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in neighborhoods such as Ennasr, lakeside Lac 1, or seaside La Marsa, which are a 10 to 30-minute drive away from Tunis’s center.

Although Tunis has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Tunis, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
