Moving to Aberdeen in late Dec-13

Hi All!

I hope this message finds you all well in Aberdeen!

I'm a 34yo Australian who is moving back to Scotland (I spent a good chunk of my 20's in Edinburgh) - with Aberdeen being the destination this time round (mainly due to work, I work in HR). With this in mind, I wondered if anyone had any advice as to short(ish) accommodation options in late Dec - early Jan. I'm aware of the cost of long term accommodation (which is fine) - however I've struggled to find anything for when I first arrive. Most guest houses are closed over that period, but I find it strange that nothing else really exists (other than hotels). Maybe that’s the case? I've done a lot of research and have come up with very little that doesn’t cost the earth (seeing as though it will no doubt be for a few weeks whilst I get sorted with a flat etc).

Anyhow, I thought I would put it out there to you guys and see what suggestions arise.
