Moving to Abidjan, what to know?

Hey there to all,

I am going to move to Abidjan soon and I have realized I have no any idea what it is like to live there. The information in the internet and here on forums is not that much.

Would you please suggest me anything taking into account I have never been to any African countries before? Whatever you think can be useful or anyone new must know before arriving. I am concerned particularly in the following: what is the current situation there? How is the life for a foreigner who does not speak any French? Where is the good/safe/fancy place to live working near the Cam Militare? What is the approximate cost of living in Abidjan? Is it reasonable to find a furnished flat for rent? Etc.

Any information and advice will be appreciated!
