Using public transportation (Abidjan)

Hello everyone!
Hope you are all doing good. I'm new to the Abidjan community and I am really looking forward to relocate to Ivory Coast in September. I have been reading a lot of the threads to prepare my relocation however I did not come across the public transportation.
I'm not intending to get a car while in Abidjan and I was wondering if it will be possible/safe to use public transportation in Plateau & Cocody to get to work. I read that taxis are not recommended because of possibilities to get robbed. So what do you suggest?
