Abu Dhabi - Work Permit Process & Timelines

Hello All,
I am new to the Expat forum so appreciate your help.
I have accepted a role in Abu Dhabi, and the prospective employer has applied for my work permit/residency visa but I haven't heard anything back. It's been approximately 4 weeks.
How long should I expect this to take?
