Skype (Abu Dhabi)

I have read that Skype is blocked in UAE. Is this true? In planning a move, I was hoping to use Skype to stay connected to family and friends back in the US and Brazil using Skype - which I have generally done when I have been out of in country in the past. How restrictive is access to websites in UAE? I have also read conflicting information about this....some saying you can access just about anything that is not oriented to dating or sexuality, and others saying that it is quite restrictive compared to the access we have in the West. Just curious. Anyone with knowledge and experience that is willing to share it?
