Teaching in Abu Dhabi

Does anyone know what it is like for an American teacher to work for the Abu Dhabi Education Council? They have made some major reforms and are continuing to hire many Western teachers, especially to teach math and science in English.

I am interested in knowing what the working conditions are like, if the promises of lucrative salaries and outstanding benefits are realistic, and if Western teachers are respected and valued.

Finally, I am also curious about the social life and the ease or lack thereof in making friends and finding a social circle. I am a single male in my early 40s, never married, with no children. I have taught in the US for many years and I am pursuing a teaching position with ADEC and with a few international schools.
