Takoradi (Accra)

Hi folks, I am considering a move to Takoradi with my work. This position would at first invole working one month in Takoradi, one month in the UK.
Could you put my mind at rest regarding working and living in Ghana, and in particular Takoradi?
Is it a safe place for wives and families?
Any information would be well recieved.
