Belated Chinese New Year 2019
Protected content China starts on Tuesday, the 5th of February and it's the year of the Pig. Being unable to celebrate it on the 5th, we will be celebrating exactly a week after.
Certain foods are eaten during the festival because of their symbolic meanings. Fish is a must for Chinese New Year as the Chinese word for fish sounds like the word for surplus. Eating fish is believed to bring a surplus of money and good luck in the coming year. Other "Lucky Foods" include dumplings, noodles, tangerines and rice balls.
Here is the menu for the dinner (for every 4 people):
Selection of dim sum
Steamed seabass with ginger
Stir fried Pak Choy with mushrooms
Duck with Oren sauce
Veal with mushrooms
There will be a parade for the Chinese New Year in Paola Sarpi on sunday the 10th:
Kung Hei Fat Choi - May Prosperity Be With You
