Cooking Locally Grown, Seasonal Food. 'FIG'
For this first sesssion of our series 'Cooking locally grown, seasonal food', we are going to use a variety of 'FIG' called 'Coll de Dama' as our main ingredient and which is harvested from august to mid october.
The main idea is to teach you how to preserve this seasonal fruit in jam so you can make it at home and continue enjoying it with your favorite cheeses, salads, and meats. Once the jam is made each one of you will take away a jar of jam.
The fig is also going to be the main ingredient of the night so we can enjoy other savory recipes while we learn and cook. Amongst them;
- Fig jam on crostini with options of goat, blue, and manchego cheeses.
-Fig and squash salad on a bed of arugula with feta and mustard dressing.
-Almond fig feta risotto
- 1 glass of cava and
- 1 glass of wine
-feel free to bring your own drink.
