Conference Evening: Everything Changes so Why Hang On?
Conference:Everything changes so why hang on?
with Guèn Kelsang Eupamé
Who has never felt resistance to change? Seeing his skin wrinkle, an advantageous rule being postponed, summer ending, his partner moving away ... It is stronger than us, in our hearts, we are often struggling against the inevitable transformations of our conditions. While it would be so much more pleasant and profitable to go in the direction of the current! Especially much wiser. Because if there is something permanent, it is change! Everything changes and so do we, including when we think we are not changing: every experience, every encounter, every second even, changes us.
Buddha taught that nothing lasts, nothing remains. Everything is like lightning: a lightning bolt appears in the sky and stops in an instant.
The great Greek philosopher Heraclitus made it a proverb: "You never bathe twice in the same river."
Everything is in perpetual motion, change, even if it is imperceptible to our five senses. Like a river, which always seems identical but where the water is never the same. That’s why we cannot experience the same thing twice. So why hold on? Thanks to the deep wisdom of impermanence, we will finally obtain keys to better live the present moment.
After the conference will be a gathering and discussions around snack and beverages
