Joachim Lang's film follows Brecht's struggles on his attempted famous opera satire for the cinema in the early Protected content . At that time, Brecht worked on a film version, but due to disagreements between Brecht and the producers, the film was never realized.
Lang's Protected content is, to a certain extent, a making-of that traces this first attempt at filming the opera.
