Indian cuisine reflects an 8,000-year history of various groups and cultures interacting with the Indian subcontinent, leading to diversity of flavors and regional cuisines. Some of which such as potato, tomatoes, chillies, peanuts, and Guava have become staples in many regions of India.
Some ingredients commonly found in Indian dishes include pork, chicken, rice, ginger, spices. Beef is generally not eaten by Hindus in India because cows are considered sacred in Hinduism.
