Mindfulness - Happy and Healthy Life
Michele Schalin, Mindfulness Coach will be discussing mindfulness and how you can include it in your daily life.
Mindfulness is paying attention on purpose to the present. It is a state of being in which you learn to have more control over your thoughts and feelings by purposely practicing simple techniques and exercises.
You start to become more aware of your surroundings and connect more with yourself. You'll begin to see how much you start to think and respond more instead of just reacting. When you think more mindfully you are less stressed and more at peace.
Michele will be sharing techniques and exercises that the scientific community has been sharing with us that help you to train your brain to respond more positively.
Michele will also discuss the various ways she uses mindfulness to help with anxiety, regulating strong emotions, and having more control over her thoughts.
After Michele's talk participants will go into breakout rooms to interact with others about their experiences or their interest in mindfulness. Afterward, she will lead us in a 10-minute meditation with a Q&A Session at the end.
