Art After Dark
Fancy a bit of a late night art 🖼 in the city? Than this is for you!
The Tate Liverpool is opening it’s doors after dark for a one-off event that features immersive art and live music.
The ‘Op Art in Focus’ display will see the Tate gallery open from 7:30pm to 11pm , on Friday, April 12 .
The after dark event will incorporate live art, DJs, music, street food and 3D projection, encouraging visitors to use sound to tailor their trip.
‘Op Art in Focus’ celebrates the development of optical art, featuring 26 works by 18 artists including Bridget Riley and Victor Vasarely.
Each guest will receive headphones with three channels to choose from - with the choice of three live acts on the night.
Guests can choose from a soundscape created by award-winning sound engineer Phil Channell, a DJ set by Breakwave or Wirral band Annexe the Moon.
DJ sets and live performances will be accompanied by visual art, taking over the entire gallery, while a street food menu will be available in the cafe.
There will also be a pop-up bar on the fourth floor of the gallery, serving a range of drinks from cocktails to British craft beer.
We can meet up at 7:15 pm ready for 7:30 pm start 🤗 on the day.
