"Surprising effects of quantum physics and optics" (in German)
We will attend a popular science presentation (aimed at the general public) about quantum effects in physics and optics. The talk will be in German.
Holger Cartarius from the Institute for pedagogical physics, University Stuttgart, presents amazing and exciting effects from quantum physics and optics. An example of this is the propagation of light in an absorbing medium. The loss of light intensity is not always a disadvantage, but paves the way for new fields of physics. This reveals surprising effects.
The talk starts at 18:00 sharp, so if you arrive after 17:45, you will find the rest of the group inside the amphitheater. Before the talk, there will be some experimental demonstrations of physical concepts, and after the talk there will be the possibility to sozialize around some drinks and brezel.
