"The masterpiece of the twentieth century is a Mondrian" Yves Saint Laurent
For many of the models of the autumn-winter Protected content couture collection, Yves Saint Laurent is inspired by the abstract painter Piet Mondrian. Described as revolutionary by the Women's Wear Daily, this collection offers a modern and avant-garde style that inspires instant enthusiasm.
The fashion designer was able to capture the spirit of his time by creating models designed to be mobile and graceful, dynamic in the dialogue of colors and lines.
This Mondrian worn, multiplied, that is to say democratized, embodies the modern body, the modern woman, the modern world. In this sense, paraphrasing the couturier, "the masterpiece of the twentieth century is a Mondrian Yves Saint Laurent".
This conference is an opportunity for Brigitte Leal to return to the scope of the fall-winter Protected content in the history of fashion and especially in the history of art.
