Special Opening Show From Italy (75')
Fabrizio Sinisi is a playwright, poet and writer. With several collaborations with major directors and the main Italian theaters, he won the prestigious Testori prize in Protected content . "Holy War" is his latest creation. The term jihad - usually translated as "holy war" - indicates in the first place, in the Islamic vocabulary, the inner struggle between the good and the bad that every believer knows, the struggle that each individual must lead to assert his own truth. From this idea of inner conflict, "Holy War" brings confrontation within the work itself. The two characters - a priest and a young woman who experienced jihad in Syria - confront each other as if they were trying each other, transforming the scene into a place of absolute expression. Then happens what almost never happens in life: two human beings who talk to each other as if it were the last time, forced almost in spite of themselves to say everything.
Translated from Italian to French by Federica Martucci and Olivier Favier.
Staging with Frédérique Loliée and Rodolfo De Souza.
