Season Closing Sailing Daytrip to Volendam
According to the latest weather forecast this weekend looks promising so we are organising the last sailing daytrip of the season this Saturday (14th Oct).
We will sail from Amsterdam to Volendam (final destination of the daytrip) on a 36 foot long Jeanneau Sun Odyssey which has a salon, kitchen, 2 cabins and a bathroom on board.
There are five places available for the trip. We will meet at the IJkantine at the arrival side of the NDSM ferry at 10.30 and walk to the Amsterdam Marina together. We will depart at 11h sharp. We will sail the IJ past Central Station and go thru the „Oranje Sluizen” lock to the Markermeer and then put out the sails heading towards Pampus for lunch if the weather permits. Then we'll sail to our final destination, Marina Volendam.
During sailing you can help out on board or you can just enjoy the weather and riding the waves on the deck.
There will be snacks and soft (cold/warm) drinks available on board and for lunch you'll get some salads and sandwiches (included in the price). Upon arrival (around 4-5pm) we’ll have a toast together (ankerbier) and can hang out at the marina or visit the town. Buses go regularly to Amsterdam. (Travel time 30 min)
Life vests are available for safety. (Max size is large) When we are sailing on the IJsselmeer and you want to go on the deck, out of the cockpit, you will be required to wear one. Some sailing experience and swimming skills are preferred. Due to the nature of this trip and for your own safety a basic level of fitness is required.
If you are new to sailing it is good to be aware that wind /weather conditions can change quite fast so we can experience some mild wind and easy sailing but also some stronger winds and waves and real sailing. Make sure to bring along several layers of clothing and preferably a wind and waterproof jacket. It will be fun!
Costs: EUR 75,- p.p. to be paid in advance.
If you wish to participate pls send me a private mail to Protected content and you will receive the payment instructions. Registration on this site by itself does not guarantee your participation. (full = full)
If the trip is cancelled because of weather conditions you will receive your full payment. In case you cancel your attendance for any reasons there is no refund.
If wind conditions change we reserve the right to alter the destination to another port on the Markermeer at a similar distance. We’ll make sure that the chosen destination is accessible by public transport (around 45 minute travel time, so that you can get back to Amsterdam in the evening).
Please be aware that there are certain risks that are unique to waterborne sports. Of course, with good planning and well trained captain then 99% of the time you’ll be enjoying one of the most exciting day trips you’ll ever experience. However, it’s good to be prepared with a suitable (sailing) travel insurance policy in the event of accidents and injuries incurred on board. Participating in this trip is at your own risk.
We are looking forward to seeing you on board.
