Latino Christmas - Blue Hour
The people of Latin America are often true life artists. Melodies, jazzy harmonies, thrilling rhythms from Latin America make Christmas songs shine in a new light, because every single day should be celebrated in life. This program presents how this celebration sounds on hard pews in Latin America and what beautiful rituals there are at Christmas time. No less festive, but rhythmically driven by the innate temperament and the joie de vivre of the Latina, which express their exuberant joy over the birth of Jesus with singing and dancing. From the Caribbean to Tierra del Fuego, from the heights of the Andes down to the beaches of the Pacific Ocean, the joyful message of Christmas is proclaimed in serene and melodious songs and thanksgiving prayers. These songs contain a deep, joyful and sensual music - treasures that must be kept from oblivion.
The melodious songs, rhythmically driven by the fell-covered Bombo, Charango (Indian mandolin), Quena (Andean flute) and Zampoña (panpipe), are thrilling and enthrall the audience with their carefree joie de vivre.
