Changing languages: about wellness and gyros
Changing languages: on wellness and gyros
How does multilingualism affect our language? In advertising, in the media and in everyday language - the German language has already changed everywhere. Sometimes self-made like the "Handy", often imported and integrated like the telephone flat rate or the long-familiar "Laissez-faire". Vocabulary expands our vocabulary and allows us to talk about new things and get to the point. The language change is hardly surprising.
Prof. Bongartz of the University of Cologne explains how frequent such word imports actually are and what they say about our language skills, the preservation or neglect of the German language.
The lecture will be in German.
