Up to a mountain lake #2!
The Tuscan-Emilian Appennine represents a great place to avoid a hot summer day down in the main valleys, and it offers marvelous views of the central mountain ridge of Italian peninsula.
I'll describe the excursion in another post on the wall, since InterNations has changed the settings and there's a limitation on the # of characters!
Here, I'll highlight that this is going to be an easy hike but it will take place totally across grasslands, mainly on the ridge of the mountains with wind and no shade. In addition, the weather may change suddenly with chances of rain.
Therefore, the following equipment is required:
- Trekking boots
- Water (1.5 l minimum).
- T-shirt, sweater and rainproof jacket (and/or poncho)
- Sunscreen and Hat
- Trekking sticks are advised.
Here's the characteristics of the trail:
Total length: about 8 km
Total climb altitude: about Protected content
Difficulty level: Medium\Easy
Actual travel time (without stops): Approximately 3 hours
Duration: daytrip (lunch at Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi or packed lunch by the participants).
As usual, we will be together with an environmental guide, who will explain more about the flora, the fauna, the geology and the history of this area.
If you want to spend an adventurous, carefree day amidst nature, walk and take pictures together with a bunch a people who love doing the same, this is your opportunity!
I look forward to receiving your confirmations!
