The Lucca hills were not only places of passage, but also a stop for the rich merchants and bankers of the city who had built from the XV century impressive villas where they could find refreshment during the hot summer season. Tangible signs of their social status and their wealth, the Lucca villas are today a leap into the world of splendor of the past.
