The Path of San Jacopo (The Small “Path of Santiago”)
this is not a ring route: it starts from Pescia and arrive in Montecatini Terme .
It covers a little stage of the” Path of San Jacopo” in Tuscany(also known as “the small Path of Santiago”) which leads from Florence to Livorno and contains an exceptional concentration of art, history and nature to be conquered on foot . We will discover castels, that were once ancient hospitals to host pilgrims ,historic spas ,ancient villages ( Borgo a Buggiano ,the village of secret gardens and citrus fruits ) and churches, in a landscape that alternates flat stretches with ancient hilly paths . The trek ends in Montecatini terme .
March is a great time to do this trek :we will be enchanted by the flowers and their perfume!!!!
Characteristics of the hiking trail:
Total length: about 15 km .
Total climb altitude: about Protected content
Difficulty level: Medium .
Actual travel time (without stops): Approximatelly 6 hours .
Duration: daytrip (packed lunch by the participants) .
COMPULSORY Equipment: face mask for Covid rules,Hiking boots with carved sole,clothing suitable for the season and weather condition,water supply (1.5 liters minimum) and packed lunch.
Recommended gear: hiking poles,camera.
Minimum participants required : 8 people.
