Let's Walk in the Land of Wonders

Dear group,

this time we will explore a not well-known corner of Siena countryside, which will hold however many amazing surprises.

Our day will start with a visit of the French garden of Celsa Castle, built in XIII century and designed from Baldassarre Peruzzi.
From there, we will have a short drive to reach the village of Ancaiano with its mighty tower, from where our ring path will start.

The walk will be characterized by multiple stops to visit noticeable highlights: the Villa di Cetinale, built on commission of the powerful Chigi family or the Romitorio di Cetinale, with its Holy Stairway, carved in stone.

The wonderful romanesque Pieve di Pernina, the church of Cetina and the farm of Morra will be our last stops of this rich itinerary, before we arrive again at Ancaiano.

Required equipment:
Suitable dressing for the weather forecast, trekking shoes, water 1.5L min.

Carpooling will be attempted to reach the starting point of the hike but seats for everybody cannot be guaranteed.

Therefore, please consider using your own mean of transportation to reach the starting point; I'd be really grateful if you can offer seats to other participants!
