Lets Go to the Opera: Russalka by Dvorak
OPERA IN THREE ACTS OF ANTONIN DVOŘÁK
The Czech composer Antonin Dvořák wanted to make a popular opera and in only a few months he elaborated the one that has been one of the most represented in the history of the Czech Republic.
Rusalka, aquatic nymph, from the mermaid family - many say that the libretto is based on Slavic legends but also in the historical account of Hans Christian Andersen - is the expression of the melodic gift of the composer. The story of the siren who wants to be human for the sake of a prince comes for the first time to the Protected content with the famous aria "Song of the Moon". A metaphor of the bond between human beings and nature and a fantastic love story.
