Let’s get into the spirit of the Holidays season enjoying The BMO Harris Magnificent Mile Lights Festival tree-lighting parade and fireworks and mingle after it with drinks.

Grand Marshals Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse from Walt Disney World illuminate more than one million lights on Protected content along the route! The parade has become a tradition in Chicago and across the nation via a one-hour television broadcast.

The parade steps off at 5:30 PM at Oak Street & N. Michigan Avenue, traveling south on Michigan Avenue to Wacker Drive. The Lights Festival draws to a grand conclusion at 7:00 pm with a spectacular firework display over the Chicago River at Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive that starts at 6:55 pm.

We will meet and greet at 4:15 pm with a coffee at the Nordstrom EBAR Artisan Coffee inside The Shops at North Bridge. Then, we will leave between 4:30 pm and 4:45 pm to look for a place in Michigan Avenue to watch the parade. Later, we will move close to Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, if not there already, to watch the fireworks over the Chicago River which starts at 6:55 pm. Once the fireworks end we will go to a nearby bar restaurant to mingle with drinks.

Since the place will be so crowded (more than 1.2 million people expected at Michigan Avenue that evening) it would be almost impossible to meet late comers at the parade. If you want to be with the group, please, meet us at The Shops at North Bridge before 4:45 pm.

I won’t make reservations at the bar restaurant we will go after the fireworks since the show up rate of confirmed participants in this InterNations group has become so unpredictable that it is almost impossible to assess in advance how many people will really show up for the activity. However, I will have a couple of nice options to walk thru, depending on the size and the interest of the group.

It might be chilly that evening and no doubt the place will be very crowded, but it is Chicago in the Holidays Season! We will have a great time getting into the spirit of the season!
