Mozart & Salieri Opera- CANCELED
Hello Opera lovers,
Where to buy the ticket?
What is it all about?
The opera refers to the alleged circumstances of WA Mozart's death - according to the legend, the genius composer was poisoned by his rival, jealous of his talent, Antonio Salieri (Peter Schaffer's later play "Amadeus" and its eight-Oscar-winning film adaptation directed by Miloš Forman will be based on similar motifs).
The intimate character of the opera and the economy of means of expression (a small cast, a strictly syllabic recitative faithfully reflecting the intonation and accents of the language, sometimes turning into a free arioso) are part of the striving for realism that returns from time to time in the history of opera; at the same time, they constitute a contrasting background for the quotes from Mozart's works used by Rimski (Zerlina's aria "Batti, batti", the theme from the ballet "Les Petits Riens", and finally the beginning of "Requiem"), enhancing their dramatic load.
