FloatFit - the water workout
FloatFit® is a super effective workout to train the entire body. The lesson is in a swimming pool on an AquaBase®, the first floating exercise mat in the world. Because the Aquabase is unstable, the participants must continuously work on their core stability, to keep their balance and not to fall into the water.
It is a completely new workout and attracts a new target group to the swimming pools and people of all ages are excited to discover this unique way of working out.
In theory, you jump onto the board, do a bunch of recognisable exercises like press-ups and squats, and the instability of balancing on water makes your core work harder. Plus, the water resistance is said to intensify muscle toning.
As this is a water based class, the exercises are very low impact, which means much less stress on joints compared to doing exercises on land. It also helps with posture, balance and coordination as well as improving muscular strength and endurance.
Which all sounds great – just so long as you can balance on the board in the first place.
If you've never done this before, I urge you to give it a go. The lesson will be half hour long.
