Frida Viva la Vida - Italian Movie
Hello movie lovers!!
Who really knows me knows also how much I love this artist, I also named my dog Frida :) So...as soon as I heard about the documentary I had to immediately share it with you!!
This is a documentary dedicated to the revolutionary Mexican artist, a journey through the works, but also Frida's photographs, clothes and personal objects, normally not accessible to the public.
Frida Kahlo is the artist who more than any other has managed to build a powerful autobiography by images, capable of telling her story with intensity: physical pain, the drama of betrayed love and abortions, political commitment. Frida has become, after her death, a pop icon able to collect hundreds of thousands of visitors in the shows dedicated to her and to inspire books, comics, songs, movies and even fashion shows. But who was Frida really? And how much energy and vitality do his canvases emit even when they tell about pain and suffering?
FRIDA VIVA LA VIDA, the docu-film directed by Giovanni Troilo, proposes a journey in six chapters in search of Frida, in the heart of Mexico, among cactuses, monkeys, deer and parrots, alternating exclusive interviews, period documents, suggestive reconstructions and works by Kahlo herself, including the most famous self-portraits.
