Once again, the Learning Lovers chapter takes a different course and focuses on “Eight Ages” of the Irish State, a ground-breaking history charting the birth, growth and development of the country as it approaches the centenary of its foundation in Protected content .
The third innings focuses on yet another reinvention of the Irish State, when it was no longer the “Irish Free State” and not (yet) a Republic. Beginning with the arrival of the new Constitution in the wake of the Abdication Crisis of Protected content , the series charts the course of Irish history during the crucial years of the Second World War and its aftermath. This eventually led to decades of economic protectionism, high emigration and eventually the long awaited Republic in Protected content .
