Beautiful English park & Castle
Let's visit one of the most beautiful English parks in Hungary & Brunszvik Castle, which is the home of Beethoven museum.
Beethoven was very close to the Brunszvik family, especially to Franz, but also to his sisters, Josephine and Theresa. In the early years of the 19th century Ludwig van Beethoven visited Martonvásár on a number of occasions due to his friendship with the music-loving Brunszvik family, who owned the estate. A number of his works, including the Appassionata Sonata, were dedicated to members of the family, who were inspired interpreters of his music. Beethoven was most closely attached to Josephine Brunszvik, whom many authors consider to be the mysterious 'Immortal Beloved'.
In the Castle there is Hungary’s only Beethoven Memorial Museum, which presents Beethoven’s correspondence with the female members of the Brunszvik family and also documents connected to the lives of the artist and the family.
If we are in Martonvásár, we can visit the Nursery School Museum, which shows how was the life in the nursery schools at the beginning.
Brunszvik Theresa dedicated her life to children and founded the first Nursery School in Hungary (in Protected content Buda).
Martonvásár is located 33 km from Budapest Protected content by train and there is a train in every 30 minutes).
The weather will be quite good: around C16, no wind and rain.
Program will start in case of min 5 participants.
Hope to see you on Sunday:
