Summer Morning Yoga Outdoors: Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar)
Without the Sun, there would be no life on Earth.
Surya Namaskara (Skt. सूर्य नमस्कार, sūrya namaskāra) is a very ancient yogi ritual and technique of salutation to the Sun, paying respect or expressing gratitude to the sun that is the source of all forms of life on the planet. On a last summer's Thursday come and learn what is practiced by yogis since thousands years.
We will start with preparatory Pranayama (breathing techniques), learn Surya Namaskar sequence of 12 yoga postures and Sanskrit mantras, combining movements with breath and completing practice with light meditation. Beginners, all levels are welcome!
The best part about Sun Salutation is that it works well for those ‘super busy’ people who often complain about not being able to do yoga because of a time crunch. Sun Salutation practice always allows you to enjoy the stretch and makes the body more flexible just in 30 minutes.
