Insects, tragedy and philosophy: Sartre's The Flies
When we met in the spring, someone suggested that we talk about Les Mouches (The Flies), by Jean Paul Sartre. The theme is the same as Orestes by Aeschylus, but the interpretation of the myth is very different. It is a powerful tragedy, about death and religion, self deception, responsibility and freedom, all good themes for discussion. A version in Spanish is here: Protected content . I couldn't find a good version in English.
