This is an unusually interesting activity - meeting with an author and having the opportunity to listen to her talking about her books, her technique, her background, her sources of inspiration. The author is Carola Christiansen, from Hamburg.

This activity has been created by our friend Sara Alperiz for her German conversation group; however, attendance is not restricted to speakers of German - Ms Christiansen speaks English and will take questions and answer them in English, although some of us may wish to use German with her. I am very grateful to Sara for making this event available to members of our group.

This is what Sara has posted in her group (Deutscher Stammtisch) about the event:

In this occasion we will enjoy the visit of Carola Christiansen. She is an important German writer from Hamburg, who will present to us her two detective novels "Der Andere Zwilling" and "Die rätselhafte Frau".

Ms. Christiansen will read from her exciting books and hold a question and answer session. The readings will be in German followed and it's possible a summarized traslstion into English.

We encourage you to attend even if you do not speak perfect German! Carola will hold the session following the reading in German and English. All are welcome!

About "Die rätselhafte Frau":

Who is the woman who is found seriously injured on the Hamburg Elbstrand? The things she remembers seems to come straight out of a thriller from the bestseller list. Luckily, she survives a second attempted murder in the hospital. When Chief Inspector Adam begins to investigate, the mutilated corpse of another missing woman is found.

Two mysterious cases where nothing is clear.

Carola Christiansen leads the reader into an abysmal family history. Pure excitement.
