Aboriginal Art - Wiltja Shelter
The Aboriginal Signature Estrangin gallery is one of the most important contemporary Aboriginal art galleries in Europe, whose approach is unique with 7 curatorial exhibitions per year in Brussels in its Protected content space, located in the basilica district of Koekelberg. The gallery represents more than Protected content Australia's most significant indigenous artists to the younger generation, and is committed to an ethical approach of partnership with them and the 35 art centers and artistic communities.
Le titre de l'exposition sélectionné par les artistes fait référence aux wiltja (des abris montés manuellement) qui furent construits près du ruisseau Iwantja au début de la communauté d'Indulkana, sur le site fondateur de l’hibou indigène (Tjurki Tjukurpa), une histoire fondamentale du Temps du Rêve.
Des aînés et grands initiés comme Alec Baker Protected content Angkuna Baker Protected content partie de ceux qui ont créé cette communauté et ont joué un rôle central dans la création de nouveaux bâtiments et services comme le centre d'art et l'école.
L’exposition à Bruxelles rend hommage de façon exceptionnelle à ces deux grands artistes témoins vivants, avec une exposition solo ici en Europe des œuvres de ce couple légendaire.
