Dear Film Enthusiasts,

Sweet Country is a period western set on the Northern Territory frontier where justice itself is put on trial. The film is in part shot in South Australia and features a cast of mainly indigenous Aboriginal Australians. While the script is drawn from tribal stories handed down by Tranter's grandfather, the character of Sam is based on an actual case of an Aboriginal man arrested and tried for murdering a white man in Central Australia in the Protected content . This provides the bones for a muscular drama in the classic Western mold, albeit with some twists, unfolding roughly over three acts.

After the movie, let's have dinner close by.

See you there!
