Not Another Dracula Tour – 4 days of ghost stories and gory real
Let's discover Dracula's trail in Romania based on the novel wih the same name. Die-hard fans of the character will enjoy this the most as we explore the remotest of places tied to the vampire's name.
Day 1: Transfagarasan and Sighisoara
We pass by Arefu (the village where Dracula's minions are said to come from because in reality the villagers are said to have helped Vlad the Impaler to escape the Turks) and drive through Transfagarasan, the most impressive road in the country. In the afternoon we arrive in Sighisoara and overnight in the city center.
Day 2: Sighisoara and Bistrita
Start the day with a tour of the Unesco citadel and have lunch in Bistrita at the Golden Crown hotel ( where you can have the same meal as Jonathan Harker in the novel). We will pass by Borgo Pass, also described in the novel as a place of outstanding natural beauty and overnight at Hotel Castel Dracula.
Day 3: Bistrita- Bran Castle - Bucharest
After the morning breakfast, travel back to Bucharest and on our way visit Bran Castle, commonly known as Dracula's Castle. Overnight in Bucharest.
Day 4: Snagov and Targoviste
Our 1st stop is Snagov Monastery where the presumed remains of the world-known count lay.
After lunch, our 2nd stop of the day is The Princely Court in Targoviste, capital of Wallachia during the rule of Vlad the Impaler. Overnight in Bucharest.
