BURNING by LEE Chang-dong
Genre: Mystery, Drama
Duration: Protected content
Language: Korean with English & Chinese subtitles
From the critically acclaimed director of Peppermint Candy and Oasis

Adapted from Haruki Murakami’s ‘Barn Burning’, Lee Chang-dong’s simmering thriller ticks all the surrealist Murakami checkboxes: phantom cats, precarious love triangles, and dangerous, pyromanic hobbies.

Deliveryman Jongsu is out on a job when he runs into Haemi, a girl who once lived in his neighbourhood. She asks if he'd mind looking after her cat while she's away on a trip to Africa. On her return she introduces to Jongsu an enigmatic young man named Ben, who she met during her trip. One day, Ben visits Jong-su's with Hae-mi and confesses his own secret hobby.
