To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Pilsen by US Army troops, Pilsen Jazz Band will honor them with a concert.
In the ten years of their existence, Pilsner Jazz Band have managed to secure themselves a place on the Czech traditional jazz and swing scene. Their wide repertoire contains something for everyone – from the old dixieland pieces from the streets of New Orleans to hits from New York dance clubs by Glenn Miller or Duke Ellington, to pieces which have been underrated for decades. The female singer, accompanied by seven instrumentalists, appeals to the audience with both Czech and English language pieces.
The concert will follow after the 6:30 PM opening of the exhibition The Liberation of Pilsen, which will explain the advance of Allied troops from Normandy to Pilsen, the role of General George S. Patton and other historical circumstances. More information about the exhibition can be found here: Protected content
