Crisp & Colorful - Mt. Samanlı Trails Hike

Difficulty: Medium. 10km / 4 hrs. walking incl. breaks / a few up&downhills /Expect the exact description of Fall; brilliant oranges, reds and yellows of the changing leaves to the crisp air and falling temperatures.

Bright fall colors of deciduous trees are common in the southeast Marmara Sea, but elevation and environment combine in the Mt. Samanli Protected content above sea level for a seasonally striking display usually Mid-November. That means perfect timing to fully experience the Fall colors.

Our hike will start from Handüzü region of Inonu Highland situated at the heights of Mt. Samanli. The area is close to Izmit City, Nicomedia of Ancient Roman Empire. Surrounded by chestnut, beechnut, oak and maple tree forests highlands on that mountain with its tiny villages offer unforgettable experiences to its visitors. We will walk through the woods covered with grass, beautiful fall foliage, wild mushrooms and lovely forest flowers. Landscaped areas can be fun to watch as well, as the variety of plants may bring a wide range of colors.
