LA Argentine Group: Argentine lunch & film "Los Tallos Amargos"
Let's meet for Argentine lunch (empanadas, salads, steaks, chimichurri and more) in Downtown LA followed by a matinee screening at a historic movie palace, of the critically acclaimed Protected content Argentine film "Los tallos amargos" (The Bitter Stems). "The author of a perfect crime felt remorse. The protagonist, a journalist, make a business offer that will leave easy money scamming people by correspondence, at first everything seems to dream, but then begin suspicions." The film is a noir tale of paranoia, shot in stark expressionist images. Los tallos amargos received the Argentine Film Critics Association Award for Best Picture, and cemented the career of its director, Fernando Ayala, who is now considered one of the most admired filmmakers of his generation. With music by Astor Piazzolla. In Spanish with English subtitles. Special guests will introduce the film. Information (ticket purchase and lunch location) will be disclosed to confirmed members in good standing, pending they do not have multiple no shows.
